I paint because color tells the truth when words will not hold it.

I love what I do because I get to put a part of my soul on each canvas.

In a small studio in Murfreesboro I wait until the canvas becomes someone I recognize.

The titles come after. Grieving, family, a sweet tooth, a relic. They are what the work confessed, not what I planned.

When a painting is finished I live with it for a while. Some of them are hard to let go of. That is how I know they are ready.

I hope they find rooms where someone will look a little longer than they meant to.
